PODCAST (08:36) — The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter’s (SCCAS) annual St Pittie’s Day Weekend Celebration returns Saturday/Sunday March 14-15, 2020, celebrating the loving companionship of pit bulls, spreading awareness about the breed and finding homes for currently adoptable dogs. Events include: Weekend Adopt-a-thon — Special gifts for lucky people who adopt pit bulls and pit bull mixes, including: • FREE front-clip harness and dog toys for your new family member; • FREE St. Pittie’s Day T-shirt. 4th annual Pit Stop Pub Crawl for a Cause – $1 off all pints at participating establishments on Saturday, March 14th.

Registration underway at the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter, 1001 Rodriguez St., Santa Cruz (corner of 7th Ave. and Rodriguez St.). $25 registration fee includes 2020 St. Pittie’s Day T-shirt (short- or long-sleeved), allowing discounted pints at select animal-loving local breweries and pubs, including
