POMDR: 14-year-old deaf Choo Choo needs a new person

Choo-Choo is deaf, aged 14, his person died, and he needs a home. Doesn’t look or act his age,

Choo Choo

Choo Choo is a super cute 14 year old little dude who loves being with his person. He’s a mellow couch potato who’s happy to snuggle, snooze on a lap, nap on the couch and go for short walks. This pup is not much interested in toys or other dogs, but absolutely loves kids! He will seek their attention and is exceptionally tolerant of being handled. He barks at cats when on leash, but may be okay with them in the home.

Choo Choo is deaf, but responds to a hand signal for “come” and may well be able to learn other signals. He is a rather picky eater and has some separation anxiety, but that is likely to get better once he has some consistency back in his life.

Choo Choo was brought to the SPCA for emergency boarding when his guardian went into the hospital. Unfortunately, his guardian was found to have a terminal illness, so there was no one to go back and get Choo Choo. When he became depressed at the shelter, the SPCA reached out to POMDR hoping that a change of environment would help boost his spirits!
