Pet Radio #2: Project Purr, caring for seniors, Animal Legal Defense Fund , Dog-Training-By-Radio, Emancipet Texas, Jen Walker

This was a really fun show! The Project Purr ladies were on in both hours.

Hour 1:

Lynne Achterberg, Project Purr — Cat rescue, spay and neuter (free) and other services. This is a really great group that has been saving lives for more than 30 years. Lynne is a co-founder.

Christy Caplan, — Talking about senior dogs and answering questions about caring for our older friends. Except we talked about other things, too.

Kathleen Wood, Animal Legal Defense Fund — California becomes America’s #3 state for animal welfare laws. Illinois #21 and Kentucky last.

Laura Pakis, Acme Canine, Dog-Training-By-Radio — We teach the “sit” command and why it matters.

Hour 2:

Ian Hallett, VP Central Texas, Emancipet — Emancipet is a nonprofit on a mission to make high-quality spay/neuter and veterinary care affordable and accessible to all pet owners. We manage an expanding national network of high-quality, low-cost clinics; offer customized training and consulting programs to animal welfare organizations nationwide, and advocate for strategies and public policy that improve the lives of pets in underserved communities.

Jen Walker, Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter — When she was here on 1/7 we never really talked about the shelter. So we will this time. Covered lots of ground and we love Jen.
