MARATHON, Fla. — Officials say 32 cold-stunned Kemp’s ridley sea turtles rescued off New England’s coast have arrived in the Florida Keys to warm up at the Turtle Hospital.
There are estimated to be only about 1,000 of these “most endangered” sea turtles still alive in the wild. Despite protections, their population has failed to recover from over-hunting.
